Crystagen — EU research guide.
Crystagen (Glu-Asp-Pro) is a synthetic tripeptide bioregulator from the Khavinson series, targeting central nervous system tissue. It is studied for cognitive support and neuroprotection in aging models.
What is Crystagen?
Crystagen is a short tripeptide proposed to have preferential affinity for CNS tissue, interacting with chromatin and modulating gene expression in neurons and glial cells. Like other Khavinson bioregulators it is hypothesised to act as an epigenetic regulator of tissue-specific protein synthesis.
What does the research show?
Preclinical studies from Russian institutions report improved memory consolidation in aged animal models, reduced oxidative damage in neuronal cultures and neuroprotective effects in ischaemia models. Human data is limited to small observational studies in elderly subjects reporting subjective cognitive improvements. No randomised controlled trials in Western peer-reviewed literature.
